Welcome to the new moon in Virgo.

Saturday 23rd August, the Sun ingress in to Virgo and the New Moon at 0° in Virgo … is a true turning point. Standing at the threshold right before eclipse season begins…Planting seeds for the new season to come, of birthing heaven to earth and tending to the Earth Mother herself...
Virgo is the path of the High Priestess. The earthy sign of the zodiac, she is a clean freak, and prefers things set out in the highest order. She is solid, organised, humble and just wants to be of service. If you want shit done, get a Virgo to do it!
She is often represented as the High Priestess card in the tarot. Initiated, in tune and a keeper of the Divine Sacred Lore. The priestess woman who officiates in sacred rites.
"She is a down-to-earth witch with the ability to summon the pragmatic magical mojo required to make ideal visions of a more perfect world truly grounded and real.
She knows that this alchemical power she is teaming up with does not really belong to her. It’s something that circulates through her. Which means that she hones herself as a master vessel. A sacred container. A highly initiated receptacle for infinite vitality."**
I can hear my Anyu, my grandmother saying in her rich Hungarian accent, “This vay or this vay?”..... Pick a path. It's time....
Hair throughout history has always been tied to strength, divine willpower and intuition.
More often in modern times though, it is seen as a fashion accessory or an expensive hinderance, subjected to the rigours of continued maintenance to keep up with social expectations...Love it or hate it, hair has become the topic again of spirituality, ritual and the sacred. When is a haircut, not a haircut? What is the real story to do with hair, your intuition and bringing back the sacred?
From the biblical story of Samson and Delilah, with Samson losing his strength after succumbing to temptation and Delilah cutting his long hair short, to the Indigenous American tradition of keeping hair long in both men and women as it is considered sacred, to visions of Saints with long hair rolled into buns high on top of the head and a grown out beard to match, deep in meditative practice and devotion: Hair has been subjective to cleansing, cutting, ritual and ridicule.
Hair in many cultures, even today, is still revered and respected as an extension of the nervous system. Like an evolved version of the cats whiskers or feelers, hair acts as an antennae that transmits information to and from the body and it's energy system. It forms part of the body's integumentary system, the outer covering and is responsible for insulation, protecting from UV rays and acts as a sensory input.
Consider this:
Hair cells and mechanotransduction:
Hair cells in the inner ear are crucial for hearing and balance.
They are specialised sensory receptors that convert mechanical vibrations (like sound waves) into electrical signals.
This process is called mechanotransduction.
Tiny hair-like structures called stereocilia on the hair cells move in response to sound waves, which then triggers the opening of ion channels and the generation of nerve impulses.
Light Absorption and Heat Generation:
Hair, particularly when containing melanin, can absorb light energy from the visible spectrum.
This absorbed light energy is then converted into heat.
The amount of heat generated depends on the amount of melanin present in the hair.
This heat can dissipate into the surrounding environment, but also contribute to the overall thermal regulation of the body.
Your hair structure is made up of a protein called keratin which is also made up of small amino acids, melanin and lipids, minerals and water. Melanin is the pigment responsible for your hair colour.
In many ancient teachings, hair is a transmitter of energy. The energy that emits from your body's bio energetic system accumulates through the scalp and leaves through your hair. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that your hair is a conductor of energy and that you can plug your EV into your hair and drive away...unless you are into that sort of thing, who am I to judge?
The top of your head holds many powerful energy meridians (or energy lines), the Crown Chakra and the brain, much of your body's energy is circulating through the skull. Thoughts as manifestations anyone?

Cue the Virgo High Priestess.
The archetypes according to Jungian psychology refers to a collectively inherited unconscious concept pattern of thought, and images, etc, universally present in individual psyches. The Priestess archetype is perhaps the most misunderstood. She holds the domain of deep insight and intuition. The portal to secret or hidden knowledge of the invisible realms. She's a trans-connector, and is the magical link or conductor between the material and the spiritual or heaven and earth. Her ability to tune into her environment around her sets her apart from the mundane. She is the one who conducts the Rites of Passage. The seer, and the one who midwives and heals the sacred and the mundane. This Priestess or archetype is apart of all of us! Deep within we all hold the Divine Feminine part of us within. Tapped into our own emotional energy, feeling and inner knowing.
The old rites of passage and rituals for our hair and our bodies served not only superficial care but also care and alignment for our minds as well. The Rites of Passage served as a timeline marker to release the old and celebrate the new. Whether it was the first cutting of the hair, getting married, or going grey, each was a ritual of owning and of honouring of the change of Life's seasons and respecting the next level or layer of magic that an individual brings to their Earth walk journey. Remember this next time you get a haircut, or colour, and on this New Moon in Virgo, plant the seeds for your next magical phase of your Life's journey....Pick a path....it's time!
